Agency Description:

Cancer Support Community is a non-profit organization committed to providing high quality support services to persons diagnosed with cancer, their caregivers, and family members. In the past, the diagnosis of cancer was synonymous with a death sentence. Today, one in four people, and three out of four families will be affected by cancer. We know that nearly half of the people diagnosed with cancer will recover and go on to live a normal life. As cancer has evolved into more of a chronic illness, CSC has played an even more important role in helping as many cancer patients as possible, recover to the greatest extent possible, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Rather than seeing cancer as a defeat of the physical body, patients can come to see it as an opportunity for personal growth and change. Cancer Support Community is more than a clinic or a social service agency that delivers good and services to meet the needs of individuals without a fee. CSC exists solely to help people with cancer and their families fight for recovery on the psychological and social front of cancer. The CSC programs of group support, education, stress management, and social networking are designed to specifically so that the patient and caregiver can be empowered to take an active role in the recovery from cancer all within the safe haven of a therapeutic community.

Agency Mission:

Cancer Support Community exists to help persons with cancer, their caregivers and family members to fight for recovery from cancer.
