Agency Description

FRC is an inpatient, rehabilitation facility for women suffering from addiction and mental health issues. This agency offers two programs: The adult residential program treats women with co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders; the other program treats children under the age of 18 with various psychological, behavioral, and cognitive disorders. Residential, day, and evening programs including child development center, parent education, individual mental health and addiction counseling, on-going group process, trauma and grief support, domestic violence classes, anger and life skills, stress management workshops, job training, case management, on-site drug testing, and transitional housing assistance.

Treat the physical, psychiatric, and addictive disorders of our patients. Improve the well being of children while promoting family reunification. . Assist families to achieve economic and social self sufficiency.

Population

FRC provides services to women 18 years and up who are pregnant or parenting struggling with addiction and mental health disorders. Additionally, we serve the children and families through individual and family therapy and evaluation. Clients come from San Diego and surrounding areas. Most of our patients have co-occurring disorders. Our children suffer from developmental, learning, and psychiatric conditions requiring diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities

Client diagnostic / assessment of co-occurring patients, including individual and group psychotherapy, process groups, psychoeducational groups, class instruction, staff consultation, smoking cessation, biofeedback, and administrative duties.

Minimal requirements: Second year graduate student, one psychological theory class, clinical or health track preferred.

Application Procedures

According and in compliance with CAPIC and school standards. Students will need fingerprinting, drug testing, and physical. Students may require RADT certification which FRC pays for.

Interview Process:

Individual and group interviews. Student may be asked for a second interview. No role playing or case presentation required.
