Agency Description
We are a non-profit child/adolescent and family mental health center offering diagnostic, educational and therapeutic outpatient services on a sliding scale. We are a service of Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, an organization that offers residential treatment, foster care placement, day treatment and NPS. Reiss-Davis offers pre and post graduate training to psychologists and social workers. Services include: outpatient therapy for children, parent work, neurofeedback, Keeping Kids First, a psychoeducational group for divorcing parents and our PEDS program for learning and AD/HD children and adolescents.Population
The PEDS program serves children and adolescents from the ages of 4-24, preschool through college. Most assessments are in English; therefore, in order for children to be tested here they must speak English. The PEDs internship program focuses on psychological and educational diagnostic testing. The responsibilities of the students are intakes, testing, scoring, interpreting, report writing and feedback sessions. Each intern receives one hour of individual supervision each week as well as one hour of group supervision. Interns have up to three testing cases at a time. The training program includes seminars in testing, assessment and child and adolescent development. Grand Rounds are offered each month on a different topic that impacts the various mental and behavioral concerns of children in the community.X-Cultural Training
Opportunties:
Every two years there is a course taught on multicultural training for the staff and fellows. Many of the grand rounds that are offered teach multicultural issues.Language(s) staff can use in the delivery of clinical services:
Staff only use English for the delivery of clinical services; however, there is staff on grounds of the agency that can translate for families if needed.Responsibilities

Required/Desired Experience:
Required experience with children and/or adolescents. Desired experience with assessment.Brief Description of Requirements:
A previous internship working with children is preferred as well as a strong background in child development. A previous internship doing assessment is preferred although not necessary.Application Procedures
CAPIC and Reiss-Davis applications are sent to PEDS Director. Once all required paperwork has been submitted, an interview is scheduled. Applicants are then informed as per the CAPIC notification date.

The interview process is a face-to-face individual interview.What we are looking for:
Someone who has completed various internships and now is fairly certain that they want to specialize in assessment. They must have an interest in working with children and adolescents as well.Additional application docs required (if any)
