The training program at EXIS Recovery aims at expanding trainees' awareness of issues related to the underlying causes of substance abuse and mental health disorders, particularly as they relate to complex and intergenerational trauma. Trainees have the opportunity to refine their diagnostic skills, expand on therapeutic interventions from various treatment approaches, and learn to conceptualize and practice based on the interplay between mental health disorders and personality structure, so as to deliver effective treatment interventions.X-Cultural Training

Multiple weekly didactic sessions are dedicated to expand on the knowledge of multi-cultural models of client conceptualization and treatment, tailored to the unique (ethnic, racial, socio-economic, etc) backgrounds of our clients.Language(s) staff can use in the delivery of clinical services:

Interns are expected to offer 4 or 5 hours of direct services on the days that they are on site, depending on whether they are full-time or part-time interns. Interns will conduct individual and group sessions, intakes, as well as discharge summaries. Interns may have the opportunity to audit and conduct psychological assessments as well. Interns may engage in writing psychology related blogs, or other related activities aimed at developing experience in areas of professional development as mental health professionals and at educating the public.Prerequisites
Required/Desired Experience:
Required: At least 1 year of experience offering direct therapy services. 2 years of experience preferred. Desired: Applicants should have 1 year of experience, or currently participate in their own therapy.Application Procedures
