Research

Does the internship include opportunities for research activities?: Yes

Details of research possibilities:

IMCES is committed to the development of competency in scholarly research/evaluation and provides opportunities for participating in local and international research and program evaluation. Areas of research have included stigma as it relates to mental illness, approaches to diversity, and immigration. IMCES engages in international cross-cultural research to identify indigenous approaches and interventions to mental illness, with the focus on evaluating and identifying best practices and sharing the results on a global level. One current area of research is on the settlement experiences of refugee and migrant youth. IMCES was invited to join this international, collaborative research along with participants at the University of South Australia and one of Canada's largest settlement organizations. Interns have the opportunity to participate in this international research project.
