Assessment and Psychological Testing

Will the trainee have an opportunity for assessment/psychological testing experience?: Yes

Describe the assessment training:

On outpatient rotations, students will learn, demonstrate competency, and administer full battery neuropsych assessment. Students will see an average of 1 -3 outpatient testing cases per week, once competency developed. Students will have the opportunity to co-assess with primary supervisors. Significant time is spent on report writing and preparation for patient/family feedback sessions.On inpatient rotations, students will learn, demonstrate competency, and administer cognitive screens to most patients. Students will learn 5-7 screening devices and results are incorporated into inpatient chart notes/reports. Further training is given via multiple didactic seminars in PM&R and Neurology. For the bariatric rotation, students will see up to 8 patients for screening, 6 patients for presurgical evaluation, and up to 4 patients for health and behavior intervention.
