Required/Desired Experience (e.g., specific populations, testing, etc):

Students benefit from prior experience in a medical setting, but this is not required. Strengths in the following areas are highly desired and will make you a well-ranked candidate: Critical thinking skills Differential diagnosis skills Neuropsychological assessment (classes if not clinical experience) Good writing skills Quick learner and/or hard worker with capacity for receiving constructive feedback

Letter of intent content (submitted to CAPIC as part of the complete student application to internship):

Status of doctoral dissertation; specific interest in OUR program; experience as it pertains to our program; which rotations interest you (email Dr. Zamora for a brochure detailing the rotations and program details)

Please briefly describe the clinical and educational experience necessary to be considered for acceptance into your training program:

Preferred: hospital experience, neuropsychological assessment experience, behavioral medicine, and brief psychotherapy experience

Describe the interview process for your agency (individual or group interview, role playing required, case presentation required, etc):

All applicants must have completed at least three years of graduate study, approximately 800 hours of practicum work, and all doctoral course work as required. Their readiness for internship training must also be verified by their graduate training director. Graduate programs will be required to complete an affiliation agreement with the UC Davis Medical Center, if one does not currently exist. Above experience is preferred.

On the inpatient unit there are two rooms accommodating 3-4 persons with computer, telephone, printer, fax, and text books. On the outpatient unit, there is one testing room and one conference room used by students. They have access to the above technology on the outpatient service too.
