The interview process centers on a written application, followed by an individual interview.

Describe what you are looking for in an applicant:

The applicant will have the ability to be thoughtful. He or she will have an interest in psychodynamic theories and their application to the clinical setting. The candidate will have had personal experience in psychotherapy, be insightful and have the capacity to maintain good boundaries and exercise good clinical judgment in the clinical setting. The applicant will be differentiated enough to be able to account for countertransference issues. We are looking for applicants who are able to maintain a reflective position and conduct themselves according to a professional code of ethics as they develop into professionals.

Trainees have access to computers on which to write intakes, as well as a private telephone room wherein to conduct phone intakes. There is a case conference room with ample table space for writing notes and space to convene comfortably with other trainees before, after and in between sessions with patients.
