Percentage of time allowed for providing assessment services: 10

Describe the assessment training:

DUE TO COVID-19 OUR ASSESSMENT TRACK IS ON HOLD. Some interns will have the opportunity to participate in our Assessment testing program offering training and supervision in psychodiagnostic testing through a psychodynamic lens. Training will involve performing an extensive battery which may include a historical intake, projective test, personality assessment, mood, somatic/pain screeners and neurological screeners. The purpose of the testing will be to address the referral question providing clarity of diagnosis, provide analysis of unconsious themes, personality organizations, case conceptualization, fitness for psychodynamic psychotherapy, risks, strengths, recommendations and treatment planning. Interns will also have the opportunity to receive didactic training during the year and will include review of assessment batteries, assessment protocols and procedures, interpretation of findings, report writing, Historical Context of Assessment and Legal and Ethical Practices of Testing. Interns may participate in training based on interest, capability, and availability. Hours dedicated toward performing testing depends on incoming referrals and scheduling. All interns conduct clinical interviews as a part of the initial intake process. Each patient undergoes a clinical interview that is written up and presented to the Clinical Director during the mandatory weekly Intake meeting where cases are evaluated and assigned. Additionally, the first 5 sessions are considered an assessment period after which the intern writes up an evaluation including identifying info, presenting problem, developmental history, psychiatric & health history, diagnosis, case conceptualization and treatment plan.
