We currently abide by the APPIC application process for our existing predoctoral interns. However, we plan to adopt the CAPIC application process for interns applying to the internship program in the Kaiser Permanente Counseling Center.

Each candidate selected for a Kaiser Permanente Counseling Center Psychology Doctoral Intern must meet the following requirements: -Currently enrolled in an accredited psychology doctoral program leading to a PhD, PsyD, EdD in Clinical, Counseling, Health or School Psychology by start date -Candidate must have advanced doctoral candidacy status for PhD, PsyD or EdD in clinical, health, school or counseling psychology in an APA accredited program -Demonstrated professional maturity and ethical integrity necessary for assuming professional responsibilities -Demonstrated commitment to quality of service, teamwork -Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks/objectives in a timely manner Preferred Qualifications -Experience in psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment using standard psychotherapeutic methods -Experience working with Chemical Dependency, Adult and/or Child and Adolescent populations -Successful completion of practicum placements in an outpatient mental health setting

Letter of intent content (submitted to CAPIC as part of the complete student application to internship):

Letter of intent should include relevant clinical experience, interest in working at KPCC, description of how the applicant has prepared themselves for KPCC internship experience, statement regarding applicant's conceptualization of and commitment to diversity, description of long-term career goals and status of dissertation.

Please briefly describe the clinical and educational experience necessary to be considered for acceptance into your training program:

Applicant must be in good standing with their academic institution, proposed dissertation by the start date of internship, have experience with clinical assessment and accurate diagnostic skills, knowledge of evidence practices and experience in applying these practices within an episode of care.

Formal interview with Program Director and panel of Clinical Supervisors.

Describe what you are looking for in an applicant:

We are looking for applicants who demonstrate early career professionalism and who are able work effectively virtual care environment. Applicants must have the capacity to learn to seek consultation when needed, work within a team, and access the vast array of resources available within the Kaiser Permanente integrated health care model. Applicants must be able to manage an increasingly complex case load over the course of the training year, within a graduated, sequential training model. Applicants must be willing to work within a Feedback Informed Care paradigm.

All internship and post-doctoral programs within the medical centers are accredited by either APA or are in the process of accreditation. Our KPCC internship program is not accredited by APA at this time.
