Comments Regarding Theoretical Orientation of Staff

Our staff are all primarily focused on the treatment of children and their families. The training program has an eco-systemic approach viewing the child in context of his/her self, his/her family, his/her school, and his/her community at large. JAS training program focuses on the family systems, psychodynamic theories, and attachment theories as a base to understanding the clinical material. The program has a strong play therapy program with a weekly play therapy seminar/supervision and this is taught from a psychodynamic (Object Relations) perspective with the use of Art Therapy and using art materials (and other projective tools) in treatment with children.
