Training and Education Offered by Internship

Please describe your objective in training Predoctoral interms. Please include a brief description of your training program and how it fits within the goals or mission of your agency:

JAS Training Program offers training in family therapy, play therapy, individual adolescent therapy, collateral parenting, and other child and family relevant topics. There is an opportunity to participate in case conference and didactic seminars that include topics related to service delivery as well as multicultural issues, learning disabilities, autism, childhood diagnoses, trauma, and current issues impacting our children and families (e.g., cyberbullying, screet time, substance use, divorce, loss, etc.). Additional training includes special concentrations, e.g., play therapy, family therapy, and case conference (grand rounds).

If applicable, describe in detail how the internship training differs from practicum training:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS OF PREDOCTORAL INTERNS:

On a weekly basis, provide clinical services to 10-15 clinical cases; 2 hours of individual supervision; 1.5 hours play therapy seminar; 1 hour didactic seminar; 1 hour parenting seminar, 1.5 hours of case conference; 1-2 hours of case management.
