Agency Description:
Mind Therapy Clinic is a group of dedicated psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists providing integrated psychiatric treatments and outpatient programs using a personalized and multidisciplinary approach to treating a broad range of psychiatric disorders, dual-diagnosis and addictive disorders.
Our team of medical doctors, doctoral and master's-level specialists incorporate a wide range of services to carefully design treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each client. Our mission is to alleviate the suffering of those we treat while developing exceptional mental health clinicians.We use the rEEG, neurofeedback and a rigorous psych assessment process to help us guide treatment and medication management. Our founder, Mark Schiller MD, is a national expert in brain technologies, and our Clinical Director, Kenneth Perlmutter, PhD, is a national expert on family systems and addiction.
Agency Mission:
The doctoral internship training program in clinical psychology at Mind Therapy Clinic is designed to foster highly proficient and well-rounded mental health professionals and provide breadth and depth of training in the practical application of clinical psychology and therapy across a broad range of mental disorders and facilitate further development in specific areas of concentration. The goal of our training program is to provide the intern with a solid foundation based on scientific and empirical knowledge of approaches that can be implemented in the formulation of treatment plans for identified clinical problems and presenting issues in patients and in addition, aims to cultivate clinical integrity, ethical, social and personal responsibility to the profession and to the clients. Interns also engage in didactic and experiential learning to enhance social and emotional competencies, self-awareness and self-management.
These objectives are fostered through one-on-one supervision, mentoring, clinical work, group therapy, seminars, performance reviews as well as live observation of clinical work.

Comments Regarding Theoretical Orientation of Staff
The theoretical orientation of the training program is psychodynamic, family systems, mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral. Programming utilizes and integrates multiple treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Experiential Group Psychotherapy, Family Systems Therapy, process and community groups. Mindfulness-based therapies such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Integrative Restoration (iRest) are specialties of the clinic.
It is a unique setting where you will have the opportunity to draw on the expertise of our staff who, cumulative, has tremendous experience working from a variety of modalities and in various different fields with a diverse population.

Comments on agency accessibility:
The client waiting room and the majority of therapy offices are wheelchair accessible. However, the group therapy room which hosts all group therapy meetings is upstairs and is not wheelchair accessible as the building does not have an elevator. The possibility of running a group downstairs exists in order to accommodate individuals with disabilities.
