Our facilities serve the community with a wide range of behavioral health programs that include inpatient and outpatient. The hospital provides a wide range of services that address the following: depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, chemical dependency, family issues, and trauma. We utilize group, individual counseling, milieu therapy, and psychological testing. Interns will also have the opportunity to provide individual therapy with long-term clients in our outpatient program and will work closely within a multi-disciplinary treatment team.Agency Mission

The psychology department provides the bulk of the inpatient treatment program, which includes group, individual, and milieu therapy. Interns are trained in an existential/humanistic model for process groups as well as trained to enhance their ability to provide psycho-educational groups. Interns also have opportunities for psychological testing and long-term therapy with individuals in our outpatient programs. Our department emphasizes a Recovery Model that includes Hope, Empowerment, Healing, and Community. Interns begin the program and complete the internship on a staggered schedule so that new interns can be mentored by members of the previous group in addition to our more formal orientation.X-Cultural Training
Opportunties:
1. Multicultural Training during hospital orientation. 2. Speakers. 3. Use of popular movies and discussion. 4. Direct interaction with patients of different ethnicities. 5. Training in the use of a live translation service via Stratus. 6. Interns themselves share their own diverse cultures. 7. Attend 2-3 hours of group supervision which includes 1 hour of testing group supervision; 1 hour of individual supervision; facilitate process, education, and milieu groups; participate in treatment meetings; participate in case management; provide brief and ongoing individual counseling; construct behavioral plans; and perform psychological assessments and testing.Prerequisites
Required/Desired Experience:
Interns with previous hospital experience are desired but not required.Application Procedures
Interview Process:
1. Group of candidates meet with supervisors for internship overview and Q & A. 2. Group of candidates meet with current interns for Q & A without supervisors present. 3. Each candidate interviews individually with supervisors and one current intern. 4. Candidates are guided on a tour of the hospital campus.What we are looking for:
