Interns add freshness and enthusiasm to the work they do and infuse the staff with their energy. Interns have the opportunity to gain clinical skills through observing licensed clinicians including psychiatrists, nursing staff, PhD's, and other licensed clinicians. They will also get experience with electronic health records, writing progress notes, doing full psycho-social assessments, reviewing and analyzing history, triaging for severity and appropriate level of care, developing and making referrals to community resources and participating in peer lead activities. Supervision in a group and/or individual setting helps the intern process their experience and hone their clinical skills.
